We often hear talking about hair problems in this way:
My hair is greasy and I need to wash it every single day.
My hair is dry and damaged.
I need to go to a hairdresser's... for a nice hairstyle.
My hair is too thin, so I need to use products for hair volume.
My hair doesn’t grow anymore the way it used to.
As years go by, I have less and less hair.
The end goal is improving the look and the appeal of the hair. But how many people actually ask themselves: WHY is my hair greasy, dry, thin or damaged? What are the causes? WHY isn't my hair the same as it used to be? PREVENTIVE CARE SERVICES have been introduced IN PHARMACIES to answer all these questions.
SERVICES PROVIDED IN PHARMACIES
Preventive care services provided in PHARMACIES are based on a detailed analysis of the modern lifestyle. In the long term, stress, health-care issues, poor diet and inadequate hygiene habits deteriorate the protective action of the bacterial flora of the epidermis and consequently affect the regular functions of the pilosebaceous units located on the scalp.
PILOSEBACEOUS UNITS OF THE SCALP
In order for the pilosebaceous units to work properly, 4 conditions have to be met:
- 1. 1. ADEQUATE OXYGENATION OF THE SKIN
- 2. 2. BALANCED BACTERIAL FLORA
- 3. 3. REGULAR FUNCTIONING OF SEBACEOUS GLANDS
- 4. 4. NUTRIENTS PROVIDED REGULARLY TO THE HAIR ROOT
It has been scientifically proven that if just one of the conditions above is not met, it gradually leads to aesthetic issues with hair ... The hair become thinner, dry or greasy, it loses its strength and volume, it doesn’t grow anymore, and falls off.
PREVENTIVE TEST OF THE PILOSEBACEOUS UNITS OF THE SCALP
The aim of the TEST is to analyse the condition of the pilosebaceous units of the scalp, as well as detecting the presence of potential anomalies.
Providing proper nutrients (cleansing the scalp appropriately) to the scalp and checking whether the pilosebaceous follicles are free: it ensures proper oxygenation of the epidermis and restores hair growth.
Thickness of growing hair: dysfunction of the pilosebaceous units of the scalp causes thinner and less voluminous hair.
Anomalies of the corneal layer of the epidermis: flaking skin, irritation and skin redness, sometimes accompanied by itchiness, are common consequences of bacterial flora disorder.
Activity of the sebaceous glands: excessive production of sebum - grease settles on the epidermis, on the hair and the follicle.
Shape of the bulb (root): by assessing several hairs, we can evaluate their lifecycle.
Nourishment of the hair root: checking whether the hair root gets a regular intake of nutrients.
WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS TEST?
IN CASE OF:
ITCHY SCALP, HAIR LOSS, DANDRUFF, GREASY, THIN OR DAMAGED HAIR...
THE TEST OF THE PILOSEBACEOUS UNITS OF THE SCALP is recommended to everyone who noticed changes in the hair or scalp over the years. Also, we generally recommend to take this test twice a year to everyone, as prevention, usually in spring and autumn. As you may know, the change of season and weather conditions, like SUMMER HEAT and WINTER FROST, may be responsible for the anomalies on the scalp and the pilosebaceous units.
